430 guests, four new playwrights and one big success!
Chicago Stories 2007 raises over $220,000

Victory Gardens Theater has a lot to celebrate last year, so what better occasion than to raise a glass to the past season than at the 17th annual Chicago Stories Benefit! Guests filled the elegant Four Seasons Hotel on Friday, May 4, 2007 for a memorable evening in honor of VGT's Tony Award-honored mission of developing and producing new plays.

Guests browsed through 150 irresisitble Silent Auction packages and raised their paddles during the exciting Live Auction. And one lucky raffle winner went home with an exquisite diamond necklace, designed and donated by Edward Ford Jewelers. The centerpiece of the evening was the World Premiere performances of this year's three "celebrity" 10-minute plays.

VGT owes a debt of gratitude to Chicago Stories 2007's talented playwrights:

Richard Christiansen
Former chief critic and senior writer for the Chicago Tribune

Bill Zwecker
Chicago Sun-Times columnist and entertainment reporter and film critic for CBS 2

Lisa Madigan and Pat Byrnes
Illinois Attorney General (Madigan) and New Yorker cartoonist (Byrnes)
